AI didn’t design our bathroom, but it made it possible for me to design it myself before making any expensive mistakes! My mind is still blown with how I accomplished this complete design in one weekend.
The Constraints
Our current master bathroom is absolutely non-functional:

Since we finally moved our bedroom upstairs last year, we’ve been thinking hard about starting to use the master bathroom instead of sharing with our kids in the downstairs bathroom.
The Before
The Inspiration (Renderings)
I found this picture on Pinterest, and thought the colors and vibe matched what I’d want.
So, I asked Gemini to rerender my starting (before) pictures in this style. I gave it a few extra instructions, like arched mirrors, a bumpout, some shelves, and a link to an example light fixture. Yay!
But clearly, random additions are made, and the true dimensions get warped.
Actual 3D Rendering
I used Claude Code to then build a to-scale, interactive, 3D view of the bathroom. I sourced real products, provided their OBJ files where possible, and had them positioned in the space. Check out this rendering! Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, right-drag to pan.
